Sinopsis:
Academic integrity concerns are gaining popularity. This can be attributed, at least in part, to the rise in cases of academic misconduct that are being reported globally, which is a result of the growing massification of higher education and the growth of university and higher education systems. Universities are organizations with distinct social standing, and as a result of globalization, Institutional brands and the reputation of higher education systems are damaged by breaches in institutional integrity (Altbach, 2004). Positive and negative impressions of academic integrity can significantly affect the reputations of academic institutions due to the growth of international university brands and important international rankings. Due to the growth of higher education, there are now an unprecedented number of universities and university faculties. In fictitious markets controlled by national governments, several institutions compete for students. The demand for credentials has increased due to the expansion of higher education. Academic dishonesty is frequently covered by the international news media, harming the standing of universities and the academic community. Governments are responding by mandating that public institutions fulfill the professional development needs of their professors as part of a culture that increasingly sees students as paying customers (Browne, 2010). In this environment, academic and policy-based interest in academic integrity research has grown in the field of higher education studies.
